DMLS - Metal Sintering

DMLS (Direct Metal Laser Sintering) is an additive manufacturing technology that allows producing metal parts through metal powder sintering. It is suitable for fully functional metal prototypes, with complex geometries, for injection moulds and without jigs needed. Sintered parts have mechanical and thermal properties similar to those of casted parts. Furthermore, they are suitable for post-production operations such as CNC machining and turning for grinding, finishing and heat treatments. There are no dimensional limits because the materials are suitable for welding, too.

  • Standard tolerance: +/- 0.3 mm
  • Layer thickness: 0.1 - 0.15 mm
  • Minimum wall thickness: 0.5 mm 
  • Maximum dimensions: there are not dimensional limits, parts can be re-assembled through welding. Maximum production area is 500x280x345mm for monolithic parts.
  • Finishing and treatments: sandblasting, polishing, CNC machining, turning etc...
